“Ecology” was printed for 15 years which makes it the oldest magazine in Macedonia that covers topics in the field of ecology. The Go Green team took ownership of this magazine in order to modernize it, and make it attractive and acceptable for young people.
The first issue of the new magazine was published as part of the “Go Green” project and was part of a major educational campaign during which it was distributed free to high school students in the period from 25th May to 10th of June 2010. The magazine was also approved with Decision N.10-3042/4 by the Ministry of Education of Republic of Macedonia.
The Go Green team recognizes the value of this journal; therefore this activity stands out as a separate initiative which aims to ensure sustainablity in future. In addition it strives to become inevitable literature for young people. The name of the new magazine was modified by adding the term Sustainable development to the old name “Ecology”. The new name “Go Green – Ecology and Sustainable Development” emphasizes the importance of the sustainable thinking, and provides opportunities for covering wider topics like climate change, global warming, energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy.
