Тhe goal of the leadership camp was to motivate the young people to become more active citizens. The project team and the trainer Antonio Jovanovski were using the methods of informal teaching to help them learn through their own experiences.
During the leadership camp, the young people practiced democracy and shared their high school experiences, learned about the students’ rights, ways of organizing themselves, had leadership sessions and workshops about air pollution and activism.
The first day was reserved for research on the causes of air pollution in Macedonia, and afterwards a guest speaker from the industry USJE described what the industry does in order to reduce their emissions in the environment. The project team and the trainer described Go Green’s activities in the past years and presented the future events in which the youngsters can get involved.
The second day was fulfilled workshops about students’ rights, ways of organization in high schools, and even theater show prepared by the students in which they acted about a problem from their everyday high school life and worked on its solution. The rest of the camp, the students planned their organization in Green Clubs in each high school. The first activity of the Club would be to do a research on students’ opinions about their needs and problems in the school. Based on the research, 5 youth positions will be written and presented in front of institutions.
